Hello, and welcome to the WrightCreations blog. In this blog entry, we're going to thoroughly explain the game Cross Fire, which has many positives and negatives on being one of the best free first person shooters out there. To begin with, when you first play this perky game, you will notice the worst negative about the game: It's graphically challenged. The characters look quite blockish and choppy, as well as almost seeming 2D. The client-side view is okay however, but still seems to lack a lot of depth and quality. However, when you move away from the mediocre game engine they use, and the graphics themselves, it is quite possibly, the best Free2Play FPS (First Person Shooter).
When you begin the game after you've logged in, you will be taken to the main screen for server lists. When you choose your server, you come to the games you can join. Your initial weapons that you begin with are an M16 (Assault Rifle), M700 (Sniper Rifle), and 2x Frag Grenades. They give you initial ingame currency (45,000G) where you can purchasing your own guns that you have taste for. What becomes an even better treat though, is that you can compare two weapons at a time, and see the different strengths and weaknesses they each have. It was quite handy when I picked out my first weapon, which was a shiny and new, AK-74.
When you get into an actual game, which is very easy to do, you'll find out something new: Crazy firefights. As I first walked into a battlefield littered with ancient ruins along the lines of Egyption Kings, I trotted alongside a squad mate. He seemed quite anxious to begin the fight. Then, that's when it happened. Two grenades came soaring into our vicinity, and exploded. The grenades landed next to him, obliterating him within the first seconds of the game. I rushed, saw several enemies, and fired. Killing two of them, I ran out of ammunition, and quickly jumped backwards trying to avoid the oncoming enemy fire that was being sprayed in my general direction. Argh, I'm hit. Down to 74 Health. After I finally reloaded, I darted back onto the scene, and shot another enemy soldier down. Now my team was catching up, and we neared the enemy spawn point. As we set up camp and waited, it was silent. All we could hear were the faint footsteps of boots snapping against the ground. Finally, they burst out, like a waterfall, poised on destroying all of us. Withing several seconds, my team mates and I fell, and the respawn delay began. That, is what it's like in Cross Fire.
That was my first day playing this wonderful game, and I forgot all about eye candy graphics, and rag doll effects. Now I am making it my goal to become a Lieutenant, and triumph over the enemy, every game I play. There are several game modes, which include but not limited too: Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, Elimination, and Ghost Mode.
Team Deathmatch:
-Eliminate the other side until you've reached the score limit, or time is up.
Search & Destroy:
-Plant C4 on a Bomb Site, or defend the Bomb Site with your life. But the other option is to eliminate the opposition.
Elimination:
-You've got one life to eliminate the opposing force per round.
Ghost Mode:
-One side is invisible with melee weapons. Hunt them down with your weaponry!
Overall Cross Fire is extremely fun, and is great on low performance computers. However, there are many glitches and bugs that have yet to be patched. Some also see the recoil on the gun a bit weird, as it bounces from side to side, rather than up and down. Try spraying a wall down a bit away's and you'll see what I mean.
This wraps it up for the first review on Cross Fire, the free MMOFPS (Massive Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter).
